The Madras Medical Mission is a distinguished organization that embodies the spirit of compassion and service, founded under the guidance of Bishop Zachariah Mar Dionysius, Metropolitan of the Madras Diocese of the Orthodox Church of India. Established in 1982 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, this registered charitable society has grown exponentially, driven by the dedication of its community members. What began as a modest endeavor has evolved into an ISO 9001:2015-certified institution of excellence. Forty-one years ago, a vision for healing and service took shape at a dinner hosted by the Bishop of the Madras Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, H.G Zachariah Mar Dionysius. From this gathering emerged The Madras Medical Mission (MMM), dedicated to providing top-tier medical care, service to the underprivileged, and quality education. Today, MMM is renowned worldwide for its advanced facilities, esteemed doctors, and impactful work. What began as a humble initiative has blossomed into one of India's premier medical institutions, offering hope and healing to countless individuals every day.
 

The Madras Medical Mission (MMM) is dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to all patients. Our In-Patient Guide outlines the admission process, financial information, and important guidelines for a safe and comfortable stay.

Admission Process: Contact the Reception/Admission counter for guidance or information. If you are a first-time visitor, register to receive an Identification number and a hospital record file. Returning patients should bring their records.

Room Reservation: Contact the Admission Counter with the doctor's admission request for room reservation. In emergencies, you will be first admitted to the Emergency unit and later shifted to a room. Two attendants are allowed for children under 2 years old.

Financial Information: MMM is a Charitable Organisation, and donations are exempted under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975. Payment can be made by Cash, Demand Draft (DD), or Credit/Debit Cards. DDs should be in favor of The Madras Medical Mission, payable at Chennai. Foreigners or NRIs should make payments in US Dollars.

Schemes of Financial Assistance: MMM offers credit facilities to employees/dependents of certain public/private companies. Reimbursement of medical expenses or insurance claims is processed through the Medical Record Department (MRD).

General Guidelines: Patients or their guardians must give prior consent for operations or procedures. Instructions before surgery include dental and ENT check-ups, deworming medicine, and prompt treatment for infections.

Patient Safety: Feel free to ask questions about your care. All hospital staff wear name badges for identification. Patient identification bracelets are essential for identification during medication, tests, or procedures.

Medication Safety: Bring a list of your medications and allergies. Communicate any changes in your medication regimen. Ask questions about new medications and report any reactions or side effects.

Visiting Hours: Patients' room visiting hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Children below 15 years are not allowed. Specific visiting hours apply to CCU and ICUs.

Smoking Policy: MMM is a Non-Smoking zone. Please comply with this policy.
