Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital Lady Meherbai Tata died of leukemia in 1932. Sir Dorabji Tata then decided to build a cancer treatment center with all facilities in the country. Unfortunately, he died later that year, and the members of his named trust set about implementing the plan. Tata Memorial Hospital was established on 28 February 1941. Indian Cancer Research Center was started in 1952. In 1957, the Union Ministry of Health took over the administrative responsibility of Tata Memorial Hospital. 

In 1962, the Atomic Energy Department of the Government of India formally took over the planning of the hospital. Later, the Tata Memorial Indian Cancer Research Institute merged to form the Tata Memorial Center (TMC).

Appointment and registration can be done both offline and online, offline directly at the hospital and taken trom the specific counter. It will take a lot of time. If you want to do it online, you have to log into the TMC website and go to the online patient service. A three-page registration form will be filled and submitted, a professional registration number must be mailed or messaged and presented at the hospital with it. 

To show up at Tata Memorial, patients are divided into two categories, general category and private category. However, first all patients are placed in "C" the category and , then the medical social workers talk to the patients and judge their financial capacity or divide them the into 'NC' category.

General 'C' category patients have to pay a minimum nominal charge for medical services, 'NC' category patients do not have to pay any charges in ,most cases and " Ayushman Bharat card " holders do not have to pay any money for treatment.

Registration of general category patients is done at ground floor counter number 55 of Golden Jubilee building . Private patients are to deposit money at counter number 125 and 127 of Homi Bhabha building, at counter number 136 and 137 the of that building, General will deposit money at C-category number 111 counter.

C category patients have to deposit 20% free initial stage for examination and consultation. NCs don't have to pay it. New registrations are open Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Saturday 8 am to 12:15 pm. Cash deposits will be accepted from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Outdoor timing monday to friday 9:15 am to 5:30 pm .  Saturday morning 9:15 am to 2:15 pm . Hospital Outdoor Closed on Central Governments Holidays. Emergency department open 24×7.

Here Daycare bed charge is 410 rupees. General ward 1800 rupees.

Context All the charges given here categoriesded into general and private category. Private category the patients will pay all the charges but general category will not. If it is included in "C" category, first everyone is kept in "C" category and then it is divided. 20% tax shall be paid on the prescribed charges for all examinations and consultations. "NCs" have to pay a minimum charge for some services.

Apart from this, Tata Memorial Hospital also provides accommodation to the relatives of cancer patients on a first-come first-served basis. For this, you have to contact the Medical Social Works Department. They accommodate adults at Borges Memorial Hall. They also make arrangements for children and teenagers to stay. Can stay for 4-6 weeks at low rent.
